For beach lovers, Pelican Bay offers three miles of pristine beachfront along the Gulf of Mexico. Access to the beach and beachside pavilions is made possible by the community’s tram service that travels along one of two elevated boardwalks.
Restaurants offer dining either inside or on the deck where sun and sunset worshippers and people watchers gather and relax.
Canoeing and sailing are popular activities and both are accessible by contacting The Pelican Bay Foundation Center. One can experience the tranquillity of the Lower and Upper Clam Bay by traversing the estuaries and winding through the mangroves — a delightful way to spend an afternoon. Sailboats for use on the Gulf are available through the Pelican Bay Sailing Club.
Or, if you'd like more action, play a game of tennis at one of 18 tennis courts. A professional director and teaching professional will help you improve your game. A professional director and teaching professional organize activities and are available for lessons.
Pelican Bay boasts one of the finest championship golf courses in the area. THE CLUB at Pelican Bay, designed by renowned architect Arthur Hills, is a challenging private 27-hole course. Memberships are available for both golfing and/or dining. The formal and informal dining facility is known for some of the best cuisine in the area.
Like to stay in shape? Bicycle, jog, rollerblade or walk the 3-mile long private path and savor the views of lush natural vegetation. Pelican Bay has a Fitness Center with the finest equipment available, free, for all residents and renters. You can sign up with a Fitness Trainer or attend several of the classes offered.
Most recently, a Pelican Bay Women’s League was formed. This extremely active group has activities which include luncheons and dinners, lectures, classes, bridge, trips, etc. There's a Year-Arounders Club which holds parties the entire year. Social opportunities for the singles in Pelican Bay are also available by joining the Singles Group which meets regularly for a variety of functions.
Visit the Philharmonic Center for the Arts and enjoy symphony, ballet, jazz, country and great art work. For an entertaining, cultural and educational afternoon or evening, scheduled performances are available at the nearby Philharmonic Center for the Arts.
